About

This blog was originally intended to detail the construction of my DM&IR based switching layout based on the Inglenook switching layout. My plans have changed a little bit though recently. Rather than build a sectional home layout I’ve decided instead to build Free-mo modules (http://www.free-mo.org/). My first module is going to be a simple 2′ x 4′ module in the modern era utilizing some kits from Summit Customcuts (http://www.summit-customcuts.com/) like the O’Reilly Auto Parts. The crown jewel of this layout will be an animated crossing gate, but for fun I’ll be building my own servo controller and programming my own animator rather than using off the shelf components.

Obviously more to come!
